General Risks:
Understand there are inherent risks involved in the grooming process for dogs. These risks may include, but are not limited to, accidental injury, allergic reactions, skin irritations, cuts, scrapes, and reactions to grooming products. Understand that dogs may exhibit unpredictable behavior during grooming, such as anxiety, fear, or aggression, which may increase the risk of accidents or injuries. In some cases the service may be stopped.
Medical Release, Senior Pets & Pre-existing Conditions:
Grooming comes with potential risks such as irritation, cuts, or quicked nails, despite our utmost care. Any accidents will be immediately reported, and serious cases may require vet care.
Grooming might uncover or worsen existing health issues, particularly in senior or unwell pets. We may seek vet care if needed, but we reserve the right to refuse service if it poses a risk. Please inform me of any health or behavioral concerns beforehand. We’ll prioritize your pet's safety, but we are not responsible for pre-existing conditions.
Matted Coats:
Mats cut off the air flow in your dog's skin and can trap moisture, which can cause irritation and sores on your dog. Even mild matting can be painful, but in severe cases matting can cut off circulation to your dog's skin and cause hematomas. Here at Fur The Love Of Grooming we strongly believe in "Humanity Over Vanity." Should your dog come to us with mats we will do what is in the best interest of the dog and shave them out. By booking an appointment with us you are agreeing that as your groomer we are not liable for cuts, irritation, bruising, and other such injuries caused by matting, nor are we liable for old injuries that may have been hidden by the matted hair.
Fleas, Ticks, & Lice:
If fleas, lice, or excess ticks are found on your pet during the grooming process, you will be contacted to pick up your pet immediately. You will be charged for any time already spent with your dog to cover missed wages and cleaning costs. A grooming appointment can be rescheduled after your dog has been cleared. Because we are a small salon we cannot risk an infestation inside our salon or to other dogs on site. If you suspect that your dog may have fleas, ticks, and/or lice, but are not sure, please reschedule until your dog can be checked out by a vet.
Media Release:
This release authorizes Fur The Love Of Grooming to photograph and/or video your pet for your client file, the company website and social media pages, and possible advertisement. Your dog's name may be used when photos/videos are shared, but yours will not be. All photos/videos taken are the property of Fur The Love Of Grooming.
